Dr. Nitish Verma is a dedicated and passionate Senior Resident Doctor who has recently joined Athena Behavioral Health. Dr. Verma’s journey in the field of psychiatry began with a three-year clinical residency at the Department of Psychiatry at SMC, Ghaziabad, where he was actively involved in clinical case presentations, journal clubs, and special resident clinics. He also played an integral part in organizing Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions, conferences, and workshops for the department, demonstrating his commitment to academic growth.

His passion for research and knowledge dissemination is evident in his numerous publications and presentations. Dr. Verma has addressed pressing issues such as mental health during the Covid-19 pandemic and internet gaming addiction among medical students. His work has been recognized and published in reputable journals, including Psychiatry Bulletin of Environment, Pharmacology and Life Sciences and Psychiatry International Journal of Food and Nutritional Sciences.

Dr. Verma’s educational background is impressive, with an M.D. in Psychiatry from Santosh Medical College & Hospitals and an M.B.B.S. degree from Government Medical College, Amritsar. His dissertation on “Attitude of Medical Students Towards Suicide and Its Prevention” underscores his commitment to addressing mental health issues at their root.
